Peterson Cartridge Claims Top Spots at Spearpoint Ranch
Every year, Steve Wirth kicks off the ELR season with one of the biggest matches of the year, held at his Spearpoint Ranch in Kansas. For 2022, Steve put on this match over the weekend of March 26-28th. According to Bryan Wink of Safety First Tactical, 70% of the shooters registered for this match were ranked in the Top 100 shooters in the world, including the reigning King of 2 Mile. Also among those in attendance were Peterson Cartridge Pro Shooter, Paul Phillips, and Peterson Cartridge customer, Shane Bryan.
On day one of the event the competitors shot targets from 1500-2000 yards. If you could make 2 out of 5 impacts at 2200 yards you advanced to the next day when the distance increased to between 3000 and 4200 yards. Paul and Shane both advanced to day two.
On Sunday, less than 20 shooters made the cut. Shane was able to make a second round impact at 3600 yards and Paul connected on a second round shot at 3370 yards. This sealed the win for both shooters. Paul won the ELR Light division with Peterson Cartridge 33XC while Shane took home the ELR Heavy trophy using the Peterson Cartridge 375 CheyTac. We would like to congratulate both shooters on their well-earned success.
